Oasis Run Old Government House 2011 On the coldest day of the year so far about a dozen cars assembled at Macca’s on Woodville Road at  Merrylands. After coffees and a good chin wag the convoy headed off for Parramatta Park. As we were turning into Pitt Steet, Pam (my navigator & SWMBO) starts shouting and jumping up and down. We just nearly ran over her sister and brother in law who were taking their daily walk from their home at Rosehill. Talk about a small world ! Parking at Parramatta Park is a serious problem  and I was about 5 seconds away from heading home when we found a parking spot. Everyone gathered in the court yard prior to the guided tour which allowed us to take lots of outdoor photos as no photos were permitted inside. Like most historic sites it was very, very interesting. It is as always quite humbling to walk in the footsteps of our forbearers. Lots of efforts have gone into the restoration and there is lots more to follow. Following the guided tour which was well done we retired to lunch at ‘Lachlans’ the on site restaurant. The meal was enjoyable and we had the room to ourselves. All in all another typical enjoyable run with friends with a similar interest. Many thanks once more to Ted deLisa for his efforts in putting another memorable day together. Pictures online at         http://boatin.smugmug.com/Cars Regards John Kinnane
